Facing a job interview is a situation that we have all been through or will go through at some point in our lives. And that’s not an easy task. Nerves, a poor perception of the situation or blocking ourselves are very real possibilities, something that is normal when we know that in the short time that the interview lasts we have to give the best of ourselves, show that we are qualified to fill the job for which we aspire to and that we are the person the organization is looking for.
We must recognize that there are no “magic formulas” to successfully overcome a personnel selection process and find a job . Each person is a world and each interview a personal and non-transferable experience. However, we wanted to share with you and you the ten tips to pass a job interview , which we value most at Ecoembes and that may help you to succeed.
Above all, honesty. Be yourself and bring out the best version of you . In no case try to be someone you are not. Do not lie, because in the long run it will be known and it will not benefit you or the company. Think about your future as a member of that organization and do not base the beginning of that relationship on deception or with “half truths”.
Take the interview as a job in itself and prepare it well. Find information about the company and reflect on some details about your CV or your skills that you would like to comment on in the interview. Review the qualities of the position and what they ask for in order to highlight the greatest points in your favor in the interview. Not only do you have to make the phrase “know yourself” good, but also that of “know the other”, in this case the company that interviews you.
When it comes to dressing, be faithful to your style but try to reflect a professional image : it is better to be formal than informal.
Look at the clock, time is money. Punctuality when arriving at the interview is very important : it shows if you are a person who complies and is responsible with your time and, above all, with that of others.
Security before everything. Show your cognitive abilities . It is normal to have certain nerves but you have to trust yourself. If you don’t quite know how to approach a question, answer naturally . Don’t let your nerves play tricks on you. Honesty is the best cover letter. And no one is born knowing everything.
Watch your language . Be natural but be careful not to use language that is too informal. Be positive, do not tell bad experiences from a very dramatic or pessimistic point of view. What is rewarded above all is attitude. The human being is a very complex mechanism of emotions, and it is not always difficult to manage them.
Be flexible and with an attitude of adaptation to the needs of the company . It is what is now called personal resilience. Do you remember the famous phrase “be water my friend”? and show that you are organized at work .
Think carefully about your argument and motivation for change : why you want to leave your current company or why you left your previous job. The past is important to build the future.
The salary question: answer it honestly. How much do you consider your profile and professional experience to be worth . You can investigate in the market to have some reference figure. Don’t overestimate yourself, but don’t underestimate yourself either.
Close with a good conclusion and good arguments as to why you have to be the ideal candidate for the position. Leave a good final residue. If you are ultimately not selected for that position, they will always remember you in the future.
And now, go ahead! You can with everything.
